Job summary

UCAR seeks a SciEd Director to lead the Science Education Program and UCAR Community Programs (UCP). This role oversees strategic vision, operations, finances, and culture while championing ethical and welcoming workplaces across the organization.

The Director will provide program leadership, manage senior staff, and collaborate with NCAR and UCAR leaders to advance education and outreach initiatives for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a UCAR-relevant science or education field.
• Ten+ years of leadership experience in STEM education.
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• PhD in STEM education is preferred and may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SciEd program with strategic priorities and budget oversight.
• Ensure equitable recruitment, evaluation and salary setting for staff.
• Engage sponsors, partners and the broader community to advance the program.
• Represent UCP/UCAR in leadership meetings and external engagements.
