Job summary

The Harlem Children's Zone invites applications for the role of Director of Special Education and English as a New Language. This senior position leads the network's SpEd and ENL programs across Promise Academy Charter Schools, ensuring compliance with NY standards and high-quality instruction.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in related area.
• Minimum of 5 years of administrative/leadership experience.
• Deep understanding of NY Learning Standards.
• Extensive experience in curriculum development and MTSS/RTI.
• Strong skill set in human relations, communications, problem-solving, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Special Education and ENL programs aligned with Promise Academy pillars.
• Plan and supervise SpEd/ENL services with compliance as a minimum threshold.
• Oversee enrollment processes and staff accountability for SPED/ENL.
• Assist in budget development and coordination for SPED and ENL.
• Provide specialized instruction and MTSS data-driven supports.
• Lead professional development for SPED and ENL staff.
• Serve as liaison with the Committee on Special Education.
