Job summary

Pala Band of Mission Indians is seeking a Social Services Director to lead the Social Services department, ensuring therapeutic and social needs are met for clients in line with federal, state, and local standards. You will plan, develop, and oversee social service programs, grant writing, and reporting to support individuals, families, and communities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in related field or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
• Two+ years supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with Native American communities or multicultural settings preferred.
• Valid California Driver’s License and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate child abuse/neglect referrals and provide prevention or intervention services.
• Oversee grant writing, tracking, and compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
• Manage budgets, allocate resources, and support program funding efforts.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and supervise subordinates in implementation.
• Coordinate trainings for the Pala Mental Health project and ensure care planning.
• Maintain confidential records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Liaise with community partners and facilitate outreach and education initiatives.
• Supervise Social Services staff, recruit/train/mentor, and ensure service quality.
