Austin Community College seeks a Director to lead Interpreter and Communication Access Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and staff across ACC programs. This role supervises interpreters and captioners, manages budgets and contracts, ensures FERPA/ADA compliance, and partners with faculty, technology, and external agencies to deliver accessible services.

The ideal candidate has ASL proficiency, RID/CDI credentials, and substantial leadership experience in higher education

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• Five years of related experience with at least one year in supervision.
• RID CDI credential or equivalent preferred; ability to manage interpreters and accessibility programs.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic leadership for Interpreter and Communication Access Services.
• Supervise staff and service providers; schedule interpreters and captioners; manage contracts.
• Coordinate sign language interpreting, CART, live captioning, VRI, and related services for ACC programs.
• Ensure compliance with FERPA, ADA, and privacy laws; monitor service quality and outcomes.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, tech teams, and departments to remove barriers and improve accessibility.
