Job summary

PeopleInc is seeking a Program Director to lead Self-directed Services within the Community Based Services Department. You will oversee program operations, audits, and staff development to ensure quality services and compliant billing.

The role requires strong knowledge of OPWDD standards, budgeting oversight, and effective communication with plan owners and staff. Eligible candidates should bring leadership experience in community-based programs and a dedication to client-centered care.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. preferred or combination of experience and education.
• Current New York State Broker Credentials or completed upon hire.
• Knowledge of OPWDD regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication, both verbally and through writing, and customer satisfaction skills.
• High-level understanding and ability to work within Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding/knowledge base of the self-directed programs/models, including regulations, finances and day–to-day operations.
• Ensure program is prepared for external/internal reviews and surveys; coordinate follow-up and responses to audit findings.
• Supervise Fiscal Intermediary Representatives and Self-Direction Specialists, assessing staff talent and experience.
• Develop policies and procedures for self-directed services related to billing, regulations, and day-to-day operations.
• Provide oversight of Self-Direction Specialists to ensure invoicing and payroll accuracy for full recoupment of resources.
• Review justification and supporting documentation for non-routine budget items to ensure Medicaid billing standards are met.
• Approve employee hiring, status changes, and rate of pay changes per self-directed plans.
• Support FI Representatives in plan-owner communications; coach on staffing concerns and discipline.
• Incident Management – coordinate incidents, notifications, actions and follow up.
• Ensure programs are high quality with continuous and immediate improvements and follow up.
• Assume leadership in new projects supporting agency strategic plans.
• Financial and budgeting oversight as assigned.
• Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
