Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead the pre-opening strategy, planning, and setup of the Security department.
• Develop and implement comprehensive security, safety, and risk management programs across the hotel.
• Establish security policies, procedures, and emergency response protocols in line with Four Seasons standards and local regulations.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing Security team.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to safeguard guests, employees, assets, and reputation.
• Oversee all physical security operations, including access control and surveillance systems.
• Partner with hotel leadership to ensure a safe and secure environment throughout pre-opening and operations.
• Build and maintain relationships with local law enforcement, emergency services, and government authorities.
• Lead crisis management, emergency preparedness, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor security trends and regulatory requirements for proactive compliance.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and security technology investments.
• Investigate incidents, produce reports, and recommend corrective actions.

About the location:

Blending imaginative urban design on the banks of the St. Johns River, Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Jacksonville will be the centerpiece of the Jacksonville Shipyards, ideally located adjacent to the Sports Complex and proposed Stadium of the Future – a renovated and reimagined EverBank Stadium that will serve as home to the Jacksonville Jaguars while playing host to national and international sports and entertainment events for generations to come.

About the role

As Director of Security & Safety, you will play a pivotal leadership role in the successful pre-opening and ongoing operation of Four Seasons Hotel & Residences Jacksonville. Reporting as a key member of the hotel leadership team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, residents, employees, and assets. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced security professional with a strong luxury hospitality background and pre-opening expertise to establish world-class security operations from the ground up while fostering a culture of safety, preparedness, and exceptional service.

What You Will Do

• Lead the pre-opening strategy, planning, and setup of the Security department.
