Job summary

You will manage risk, crisis response, event security, and external partnerships, ensuring the safety of employees, affiliates, and visitors on and off campus.

The role requires a minimum of ten years in safety and security, executive protection experience preferred, and strong collaboration with Facilities, IT, and Counsel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice, security, or related field.
• Minimum of ten years of safety and security experience in complex environments.
• Experience with security procedures, policies, and standards including physical security and electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute a comprehensive security and risk management program for Brookings.
• Oversee event security planning, staffing, and threat analysis for on- and off-site events.
• Develop training programs and drills to enhance security awareness across the institution.
• Manage relationships with external security vendors and law enforcement partners.
• Collaborate with Facilities, IT, and legal teams on security policies and incident response.
