Job summary

Washoe County School District in Reno is seeking a Director of Construction & Project Management to lead the Capital Projects and Facilities Management teams, overseeing planning, development and execution of school construction, renovations, IT construction, and FFE installations to support the District’s educational mission.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management with at least five years of supervisory experience, and will

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
• Five years of professional experience including staff supervision and work with architectural/engineering firms.
• Professional registration as an architect or engineer in Nevada is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage Facilities Management Construction Division.
• Oversee all phases of construction projects from negotiation to close-out.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and quality of workmanship to ensure compliance with project requirements and District guidelines.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders regarding technical interpretations and codes.
• Ensure compliance with Nevada Revised Statutes and local regulations for Public Works projects.
