Role Purpose

As Sales & Marketing Director, you’ll develop and implement strategies to ensure revenue and room night sales goals are achieved. You will set sales and marketing strategies, create tactical plans, and monitor results to ensure targets are met.

Key Accountabilities
People
  • Manage daily sales activities, plan, and assign work to ensure proper staffing levels.
  • Develop your team through coaching, feedback, and setting performance and development goals. Recognize good performance.
  • Train colleagues to meet revenue goals and ensure they have the necessary tools and standards.
  • Recommend or initiate HR-related actions as needed.
  • Create a positive working environment, fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Interact with guests, vendors, and other contacts as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients to increase revenue.
Financial
  • Achieve personal and team sales goals, maximizing profitability.
  • Assist in preparing the departmental budget and financial plans, including marketing.
  • Create and execute sales plans to increase occupancy, rates, and sales in F&B and banquets.
  • Produce monthly reports and forecasts, analyze market and sales trends, and monitor performance to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Develop special events and sales campaigns, attend trade shows, and promote the hotel to boost sales.
Guest Experience
  • Provide guests with information to enhance their experience, such as loyalty programs and local attractions.
  • Coordinate with hotel departments for conventions and group activities.
  • Communicate guest needs and special requirements to relevant departments.
  • Lead marketing efforts to upsell hotel services and amenities.
Responsible Business
  • Collaborate with local leaders and community groups for high-profile exposure.
  • Market sustainable and “green” initiatives to attract business.
  • Work with advertising agencies and vendors to maximize advertising effectiveness.
  • Enhance the hotel's reputation locally and serve as a media representative when needed.
  • Identify marketing and sales improvements and collaborate with other departments.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
Accountability

This is the top sales and marketing role in a large, luxury, resort, or flagship hotel, possibly managing multiple sites and large teams, including VIP and special service guests.

Key Skills & Experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing or related field.
  • At least four years of hospitality sales and marketing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of local business trends.
  • Fluency in the local language(s); additional languages are a plus.

The salary range is $120,000 to $170,000, plus bonus potential. Benefits include paid time off, insurance, 401k, and more.
