Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

Plus Excellent Competitive Commissions (8% and Up)

Potential to make up to $250K Annually

Job Description

The Director of Sales and Business Development is a key leadership position within our aviation software company. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sales strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and cultivate long-term business partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the aviation industry, exceptional sales skills, and a proven track record of success in business development.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the company's market share.
  • Sales Management: Lead, mentor, motivate, train, and manage the sales team to ensure effective performance, productivity, and goal attainment.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Client Acquisition: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the aviation industry. Perform lead generation and follow-up to close deals. Address customer complaints and challenges.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations to broaden the company's reach. Conduct product demos via Zoom, tradeshows, or onsite with customers.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth through proactive sales strategies and effective negotiation skills.
  • Sales Forecasting: Develop accurate sales forecasting and weekly status reporting to track performance, pipeline activity, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the company's aviation software products and services to effectively promote and sell them.
  • Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance the company’s profile and network.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to ensure alignment with sales strategies.
  • Customer Support: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the aviation industry, experience in MRO or Parts Sales (Broker) such as customer service, supply chain, or similar position.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills; exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies; excellent negotiation and closing skills; proficiency in sales forecasting and reporting; in-depth knowledge of the aviation industry and software solutions; ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot) and Microsoft Office suite.
