Job summary

Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel is seeking a visionary Director of Risk to lead risk, safety and security programs across GCR&H and Tusayan properties. The role shapes a culture of safety, integrity, and strategic decision-making for an iconic destination.

The risk director will manage risk programs, guide incident investigations, and collaborate with senior leadership to optimize operations and compliance.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of risk and/or security experience.
• A minimum of two years management experience.
• Must possess a valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License and comply with vehicle policy.
• Bachelor's degree in safety/security or related field preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking or training experience.
• Knowledge of GCR property and guest services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support Xanterra’s Mission, Pillars, Community Commitment and Core Values.
• Develop and implement safety programs across properties per approved annual action plans.
• Manage general liability, auto and workers’ compensation claims per claims protocols.
• Review employee accident reports for OSHA 300/OSHA reporting.
• Maintain log of work-related injuries for OSHA 300.
• Investigate guest/employee accidents and lead Incident Assessment Team.
• Develop and administer annual department financial plan and monthly variance comments.
• Collaborate with Corporate Director of Risk Management.
• Schedule and supervise Security personnel; ensure training and performance.
• Monitor Dayforce timekeeping and verify payroll by PPE.
• Oversee drug/alcohol programs with labs for reporting.
• Complete annual insurance renewal applications.
• Manage access control system (SALTO).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
