Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Director of Risk Management to develop policies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance across operations. The role requires a detail-oriented, strategic thinker who can work with plant managers, field staff, insurers, attorneys, and executives.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical and communication skills, experience managing Captive programs, and 7–10 years in risk management within the building materials sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as ARM-Associate Risk Management or FRM preferred.
• Insurance industry knowledge is a plus, CPCU designation.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential risks that could impact the organization
• Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits
• Collaborate with various departments to mitigate risks
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
• Prepare risk reports and present findings to senior management
• Monitor and analyze risk trends and recommend improvements
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed
