Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Project Engineer to manage engineering projects from conception through commissioning, coordinating with operations and maintenance teams. You will oversee scheduling, safety, and contractor oversight across multi-disciplinary scopes.

The role emphasizes design review, budgeting, and vendor management, with responsibilities spanning from concept to startup and ensuring regulatory compliance. A strong engineering background and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD Earthwork, Primavera P6, and SAP preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in capital budget preparation and project scoping.
• Manage assigned projects from concept to startup.
• Supervise detailing, equipment selection, bids, and purchasing.
• Instruct personnel on new equipment operation and maintenance.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and laws.
• Provide design calculations and drawings for engineering projects.
• Support environmental permits and plant technical matters.
• Coordinate with plant personnel for project development.
