Position Overview

Dovetail + Co is seeking a senior hotel revenue professional to become an integral part of the asset management team. The role involves developing and overseeing a holistic commercial strategy to drive revenue across our portfolio of independent hotels and resorts. The candidate should have experience across multiple revenue silos including brand positioning, marketing, SEO, distribution, revenue management, and sales. The candidate will work closely with the executive team to align commercial goals with overall business strategy, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth.

The position reports directly to Dovetail’s CEO and collaborates daily with property teams and operating partners. Although based in NYC, this position can be remote.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the hotel’s commercial strategy, aligning sales, marketing, and revenue goals to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Drive revenue growth and direct bookings through innovative pricing strategies, demand generation, and distribution channel optimization.
  • Own property revenue objectives, evaluate performance, and recommend strategies to optimize asset value and long-term returns.
  • Prepare and present regular commercial performance updates to stakeholders.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with operations and finance teams to support overall profitability.
  • Set and manage sales targets, marketing budgets, and KPIs for commercial success.
  • Enhance the hotel’s brand positioning and reputation through targeted marketing and communication strategies.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships to expand market reach and profitability.
  • Ensure data-driven decision-making through performance analysis and reporting.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technological innovations, and emerging opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in senior commercial leadership roles within hospitality, including management experience.
  • Proven success in developing and executing commercial strategies.
  • Experience with boutique independent hotels and resorts.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills focused on performance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of revenue management, digital marketing, and distribution strategies.
  • Analytical mindset with a data-driven decision-making approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, AI.
