Description: Manager – Inpatient Revenue & Coding

The Manager will oversee hospital account reviews for coding and documentation accuracy, drive inpatient revenue improvement, and collaborate with internal and hospital teams to optimize DRG improvements. This role also includes hands-on support at community hospitals, training initiatives, and direct access to company leadership for professional mentoring.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage hospital account review processes, identifying coding or documentation errors.
  2. Oversee inpatient revenue improvement strategies for current and future clients.
  3. Analyze hospital accounts for DRG improvements.
  4. Partner with hospital staff to submit accounts for rebilling.
  5. Present findings to hospital leadership and assist in removing barriers to improvement.
  6. Provide training and education to hospital staff on correct coding and billing practices.
  7. Travel to community hospitals and healthcare organizations for hands-on client support.
  8. Supervise 1 to 2 direct reports (Inpatient Coding Analyst).
Qualifications
  • Certified in inpatient coding.
  • Minimum 3 years of CDI and inpatient coding experience.
  • Consulting and/or auditing experience required.
  • Strong analytical and data science skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to task completion.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle transformation projects.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on driving results.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites (10-15%).
