Job summary

The College of New Jersey in Ewing Township, NJ seeks a Residence Director to lead a residential education and housing program, supervise a diverse student staff, and advance programming and community development.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, graduate work or experience in residence life, and willingness to work evenings and weekends. This is a full-time position in a dynamic campus housing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s may substitute for one year of experience.
• One academic year of graduate work in residence hall management or related field.
• 1-2 years residence life experience and/or staff supervision at graduate level.
• All residence directors must reside in campus housing and be prepared for evening/weekend commitments.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a staff of ten to twenty Community Advisors and supervise student staff.
• Assist staff in developing and reviewing annual objectives and ensure effective communication and operations.
• Facilitate staff unity, training, and onboarding; organize weekly hall staff meetings.
• Serve as hearing officer for student conduct procedures and adjudication.
• Provide crisis support, counseling referrals, and manage duty rotations for on‑call coverage.
