Job summary

JM Test Systems is seeking an experienced Rental Director to own strategy, growth, and profitability of our rental business across locations. You will expand our fleet, markets, and customer reach while coordinating Operations, Sales, and Finance to shape the future of rental at JM Test Systems.

You should have a proven track record growing rental businesses, optimizing fleet utilization, and building high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of rental industry experience, including 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience managing a technical or industrial equipment fleet, including utilization, inventory, maintenance, lifecycle costs, and downtime.
• Strong financial acumen in rental pricing, asset ROI, capital planning, budgets, and forecasts.
• Experience with rental management technology, ERP systems, and data analytics.
• Experience leading multi-location rental operations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy: own and execute rental growth, profitability, and market expansion.
• Scale operations: lead rental operations across multiple locations with scalable processes.
• Maximize the fleet: oversee fleet strategy, procurement, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
• Run on the numbers: establish and track KPIs for revenue, profitability, utilization, availability, downtime, and customer satisfaction.
• Build a strong team: lead and develop a high-performing rental team with clear expectations.
• Grow customer relationships: drive retention, repeat business, and new opportunities.
• Connect rental to the bigger picture: collaborate with Sales, Operations, Finance, and leadership using data and market insights.
