Job summary

Steadily Insurance Company in the Kansas City metro area is seeking a Director of Reinsurance and Capacity to lay the runway for scaling while managing existing capacity relationships. You will secure new capacity, renew programs, and partner with brokers, fronting carriers, reinsurers, underwriters, and auditors.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years in reinsurance (underwriter, broker, or carrier/MGA).
• Extensive industry contacts and knowledge of property insurance.
• Familiar with catastrophe modeling and reinsurance structures.

Responsibilities

• Secure new capacity at favorable terms to enable scaling with strong loss ratios.
• Lead renewal of numerous reinsurance programs and capacity contracts.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with capacity partners (brokers, carriers, reinsurers, auditors).
• Lead development of a partner portal to enhance the partnership experience.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, product, actuarial, and finance for profitability.
• Oversee enterprise projects to deepen understanding of operations and drive results.
• Report directly to the Chief Insurance Officer.
• Travel – 15%.
