Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Director of Compliance and Privacy to lead the organization’s regulatory programs and advisory services. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare compliance-related field and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Or a master’s degree in a healthcare compliance-related field plus 7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience interpreting and operationalizing regulatory requirements across CMS, Stark, and related entities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely remediation of compliance concerns raised through reports and hotline.
• Develop evidence-based advice after researching statutes, rules, and guidance.
• Monitor and interpret regulatory requirements to assess organizational risk.
• Direct the Facility Compliance Liaison Program to strengthen local ownership.
• Manage go-live readiness and ongoing compliance for provider-based entities.
• Lead implementation and optimization of the compliance performance system.
• Maintain current written compliance standards and the Code of Conduct.
• Own the design and governance of the compliance education program.
• Ensure CMS FDR requirements are met by monitoring delegated entities.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies for external audits and investigations.
• Represent the compliance department on councils and committees.
