Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Director of Clinical Reimbursement- MDS RN to lead MDS assessment coordination and reimbursement for long-term care residents.

The role oversees MDS/Care Planning, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, and trains staff on MDS/RAI processes. This exempt, salaried position includes full benefits and a path to advance quality care.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing; RN licensure required within 90 days.
• RN licensure with MN Board of Nursing; LPN allowed temporarily until RN is obtained.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA/Red Cross) required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees MDS assessment and Care Planning as required by law.
• Manages the reimbursement system for long-term care.
• Stays current on long-term care trends and state/federal regulations.
• Uses Quality Indicator data and reports to improve MDS accuracy.
• Provides educational training on MDS/RAI processes to staff as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Director of Clinical Reimbursement- MDS RN to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team in ensuring that the safety and health needs of the senior age long term care residents are met at our facility in Minneapolis, MN. The nursing position is responsible for the Coordination of Resident Assesment Instrument process and reimbursement thourgh the MDS process for long-term care.

This nurse position includes:

• 80 hours every two weeks
• Monday through Friday, Days
• Salaried/exempt

• Oversees MDS assessment/Care Planning as required by State and Federal law
• Manages reimbursement system
• Stays current regarding long term care trends and state/federal regulations
• Uses Quality Indicator data, other reports to improve Quality Performance and MDS accuracy
• Provides educational training related to MDS/RAI process to all staff on an ongoing basis and as needed
• Other duties as assigned and directed

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science Associate Degree – Registered Nurse (required within 90-days after hire date)
• Registered Nurse RN Licensure/Registered with the MN Board of Nursing (may initially hold LPN licensure but RN licensure required within 90-days after hire date) within 90 Days
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; accepted certifications as follows -AHA: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program or BLS Provider - BLS Instructor. American Red Cross: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and/or Healthcare Providers, Life Guarding First Aid/CPR/AED

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year One to Three Years – Long Term Care
• Basic computer skills
• Supervisory skills
• MDS Experience
• ANACC Certification
