Job description

The Director of Radiologic Technology provides leadership and oversight for the Radiologic Technology program, ensuring effective program operations, student success, and compliance with applicable institutional and professional standards. The position is responsible for coordinating instructional activities, supporting faculty and staff, maintaining program quality, and fostering relationships with clinical partners. The Director also oversees program planning, assessment, accreditation requirements, and continuous improvement while supporting the educational and professional development of students.

Specific Position Duties

• Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field.


• Demonstrates willingness and ability to teach various courses, times, locations, and delivery methods, as needed and as reasonably requested by the College, including CollegeNOW® Academy (Dual Credit) classes.


• Utilizes appropriately challenging coursework to help students realize their full potential as learners.


• Provides students with written expectations, including syllabi, policies, assignment instructions, graded evaluations, and other relevant course materials.


• Administers assessments appropriate to course content, including a comprehensive final examination measuring students’ overall understanding of course objectives.


• Through various instructional methods, affirms the worth and dignity of all persons and the right of all persons to learn.


• Maintains an appropriate learning and assessment climate in the classroom, whether traditional, web-based, or distance learning, that encourages the free exchange of ideas while promoting academic honesty and objectivity.


• Prepares adequately for class and arrives promptly at class meetings, labs, and other scheduled instructional activities.


• Delivers instructional material in a clear and understandable manner.


• Addresses student concerns, including comments, questions, and input, in a timely manner through class interactions, posted office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate means.


• Effectively handles routine procedures necessary for the successful day-to-day operation of the department.


• Submits required reports.


• Maintains effective relationships with professional counterparts throughout the College and the community.


• Provides individual student advisement regarding degree plans and degree applications to support compliance with completion requirements.


• Assists with recruiting, marketing, and outreach efforts for department programs.


• Actively participates in College functions and events and engages in community service.


• Serves on College and campus committees as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution.


• Teaching experience.


• Strong oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate effectively.
