Job summary
Apple Inc. is seeking a Director of Software Test Engineering & Quality Assurance in Sunnyvale to lead a global, enterprise-wide testing strategy across IS&T, Operations, and AppleCare Technologies.
You will modernize QA frameworks, embed quality throughout the software lifecycle, and drive KPIs to improve reliability and performance across cloud, mobile, and AI/ML systems. The role requires senior leadership, cross-functional influence, and a strong track record in scalable test automation
Qualifications
- 15+ years in software portfolio management, quality engineering, or test strategy.
- 7+ years leading large, global quality or engineering orgs.
Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end testing strategy across IS&T, Operations, and AppleCare.
- Modernize QA infrastructure with automation replacing manual tests.
- Embed quality in SDLC and CI/CD with stakeholders across teams.
- Establish standards, tools, processes, and metrics for quality at scale.
- Drive KPIs like defect escape rate, test coverage, MTTR.
- Lead a global, diverse QA organization including SDETs and managers.
