Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism or a related field.
• Minimum of two years' experience in public relations; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel; available for leadership support outside normal business hours; flexible and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements communication strategies.
• Coordinates and aligns departmental messaging.
• Advises and supports leadership on all communication efforts.
• Researches, compiles data, outlines and composes correspondences.
• Creates, proofs and prepares all departmental communications.
• Organizes, prepares and attends various governmental and executive meetings.
• Responds to all media, journalist and content creator inquiries.
• Compiles, coordinates and presents reports and information for management and executive team meetings.
• Sets goals and meets deadlines for the Department's public communications efforts.
• Maintains Departmental brand consistency within all communication efforts.
• Oversees public relations section; manages employees and work assignments.
