Job summary

STACK INFRASTRUCTURE seeks a Director of Public Affairs to lead government relations and public policy for data center development across North America. The role may be remote with Denver headquarters reference and requires building strategic relationships with government officials, utilities, industry groups, and partners.

You will develop advocacy plans, monitor regulatory developments, and advise senior leaders on risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public policy or political science or related field.
• At least seven years of government relations, public affairs, or regulatory policy experience.
• Experience with data centers, digital infrastructure, energy, or utilities preferred.
• Strong writing and speaking skills to explain complex policy to senior leaders and external audiences.
• Ability to manage work across multiple markets, jurisdictions, and deadlines.
• Experience managing outside counsel, lobbyists, or related budgets is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor state and local legislation affecting data center development including land use and energy.
• Develop public affairs and advocacy plans for priority markets and projects.
• Build relationships with state and local officials, planning bodies, utility commissions, economic development organizations, community leaders, and industry groups.
• Incorporate political, regulatory, utility, and community considerations into site selection and project planning.
• Represent STACK at public hearings, briefings, and industry meetings.
• Advise senior leaders on local requirements, regulatory developments, stakeholder concerns, and risks.
• Prepare presentations, briefing memos, talking points, and public statements for leaders.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and partners on timelines and reporting.
