Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 7 years of related sponsored research administration experience; OR 11 years with combination of education and experience.
• Transcript required.

Responsibilities

• Exercises delegated authority to approve proposals for institutional submission within the threshold established by the Authorized Organizational Representative.
• Reviews complex, multi-component and consortium proposals and assesses institutional eligibility, sponsor requirements, and commitments.
• Supervises the Research Administrator ladder, including performance management and coaching.
• Maintains backup coverage and continuity plans to ensure timely submission.
• Establishes and monitors proposal turnaround standards and reports service performance.
• Identifies recurring causes of submission delays and partners with colleges and system staff to address root causes.
• Develops and delivers training on proposal preparation, budget development, and sponsor requirements.
• Contributes to institutional policies and procedures for proposal submission and review.
