Overview

Mark1, a developer-as-a-service for capital-intensive, first-of-a-kind emerging industrial technologies, is seeking a director-level individual based in the US to lead project co-development in partnership with emerging industrial technology firms. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading project development, managing contract negotiations, and securing project financing for industrial projects. Strength in siting, permitting, and regulatory work during FEL-0 through FEL-2 is highly desired. Within these domains, we're seeking an individually driven, senior development professional who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, support formation of business case and creation of development plans (FEL-0)
• Lead development efforts across Siting & Regulatory including securing land rights, utility permissions, permits, environmental clearances and property tax agreements
• Support engagement of local stakeholders across incentives and community adoption
• Work closely with engineering, finance and commercial team members to advance each project through FEL-2 and successfully unlock FEL-3 (FEED) funding
• Generate and refine development schedules, budgets and succinct strategy recommendations to project executives
• Hire and manage third party consultants
• Support co-development negotiations with joint venture partners

Requirements

• Previous experience in a director level role leading project development efforts for an energy generation or chemicals technology
• Present with an executive communication style and ability to synthesize diverse materials comprehensively.
• Ability to grasp, distill and explain novel technologies to non-technical stakeholders
• Background in industrial project development
• Strong understanding of emerging technologies in energy generation and storage, clean fuels or carbon management
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, mission-oriented environment
• Ability to travel ~25%

Base Pay: $150,000 - $200,000per year
