Job summary

X-energy LLC is seeking a Director of Project Controls to lead TRISO-X programs. Based in Oak Ridge, you will provide strategic leadership for planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management across multiple capital projects.

You will set governance standards and ensure alignment with corporate goals, regulatory requirements, and growth strategies. You will build and guide a cross-trained team of project controls professionals, oversee data-driven performance reporting, and partner with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, business, engineering, science or related technical discipline; MBA preferred.
• 17+ years of progressive experience in project controls, PMO on large capital projects.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary project controls teams.
• Experience implementing enterprise-wide project controls frameworks, governance, risk management.
• Knowledge of earned value management and performance measurement tools.
• Ability to define KPIs, forecasting methods, and robust reporting cadence.
• Proficiency with MS Word/Excel; experience with MS Project or Primavera is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of TRISO-X project controls across programs.
• Oversee EVM and other performance methodologies to meet governance requirements.
• Define KPIs, metrics, forecasting methodology, and reporting cadence.
• Develop project controls engineers and analysts, incl. onboarding and coaching.
• Lead a mix of direct reports and matrixed staff to deliver high value support.
• Provide hands-on guidance on schedules, cost reports, forecasts, risk registers and change requests.
• Advise executives on early planning, investments, gates, and risk frameworks.
• Establish project cost accounting frameworks and budgets.
