Job summary

The New York Women's Foundation seeks a Director, Programs to lead the Early Investment/Emerging Solutions grantmaking focus, supporting women, girls, and TGNC-led grassroots groups in NYC. You will supervise program staff, guide grantmaking, and advance grantee capacity building.

You will partner across departments to assess impact, develop content for forums, and strengthen donor engagement. A strong commitment to the Foundation's mission is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of related nonprofit/philanthropy leadership experience.
• BA degree or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of issues facing women, girls and TGNC individuals, especially in NYC.
• Prior grantmaking experience.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Strong analytical and writing skills.
• Excellent time management and ability to handle a diverse workload.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience analyzing audited financials, balance sheets and nonprofit plans.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support three Program Officers.
• Oversee grantmaking strategy with VP input to evolve approaches.
• Oversee grantee partner relationship management and capacity building.
• Support capacity building partnerships and grantmaking.
• Manage strategic partnerships with grantmakers and nonprofit leaders.
• Collaborate with Strategic Learning and Evaluation to assess impact.
• Coordinate with Communications to highlight work through forums/publications.
• Collaborate with Development to support donor cultivation and grantwriting.
• Manage other activities and programs as assigned.
