Job summary

Muon Space, Inc. seeks a Director of Manufacturing Architecture to own and evolve the systems, tools, and processes powering the spacecraft production engine.

You’ll architect a scalable, hybrid on-site production infra across serial, NPI, and rapid prototyping modes, partnering with AI&T, quality, supply chain, and mission engineering teams. You will lead end-to-end infrastructure definition, build reusable artifacts, and drive learnability with strong documentation and training.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering (M.S. preferred) or equivalent technical experience.
• 8+ years of manufacturing/production experience with production operations and systems.
• Proven track record scaling or overhauling production infrastructure (PLM, MES, scheduling/ERP) into a scalable, maintainable system.
• Deep experience across rate production, NPI, and prototype/development builds.
• Strong grasp of BOM/part/change management, routings, work instructions, MRP/scheduling.
• Ability to design systems that are simple, intuitive, and easy to learn and trust.

Responsibilities

• Own the production infrastructure definition end-to-end - PLM, MES, scheduling, and integrations - and build a robust backbone.
• Architect for long-term growth while keeping the system simple and adoptable.
• Design infrastructure for rate production, NPI, and rapid prototyping with one coherent system.
• Define workflows, data models, and processes the tools should enforce with cross-functional teams.
• Establish standards, templates, and reusable artifacts for programs and Production TPMs.
• Drive documentation, training, and onboarding to enable quick ramp-up of engineers and TPMs.
• Build dashboards and data integrations for real-time visibility on build status, capacity, and constraints.
• Coordinate with IT/tools, quality, and supply chain to ensure clean integration with adjacent systems.
• Identify critical paths and dependencies; drive roadmap and migrations without disrupting active builds.
• Serve as integrating owner of production infrastructure for how spacecraft are planned and built.
