Job summary

Muon Space seeks an experienced leader to build and guide the Spacecraft Components organization, overseeing electronics, embedded systems, modules, mechanisms, and solar deployables across multiple missions.

The role partners with Product, Business Development, Systems Engineering, Software, and Operations to deliver a scalable, high‑mix hardware portfolio, while mentoring managers and driving budgets, schedules, and milestones.

Qualifications

• 15+ years designing or managing high‑reliability systems in harsh environments.
• 8+ years of people management, engineers and managers.
• Strong foundation spanning electrical, embedded, and mechanical design/analysis.
• Experience designing and manufacturing low‑volume, high‑mix products.
• Proven experience managing complex projects from concept to deployment with budget/schedule.
• Leadership, program management, communication and fast‑paced problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, qualify, and deliver spacecraft components across multiple subteams.
• Own component roadmaps balancing concurrent missions and platform evolution.
• Oversee design, qualification and electrical test strategies; coordinate with Reliability & Test.
• Provide engineering support to instrument and propulsion teams.
• Collaborate with Product, Business Development, Systems Engineering, Software, and Operations.
• Partner with Production and Supply Chain to scale from prototype to high volumes; design for manufacturability.
• Own budgets, schedules, and milestones for component development programs.
• Mentor and develop multiple levels of managers for scalable growth.
