Job summary

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists seeks a Director, Product Development and Content Strategy to guide the clinical, educational, and consumer product portfolio from Washington, DC. The role partners with Editorial, Journals, Marketing and Communications to define product vision and revenue growth.

The Director will manage product roadmaps, licensing workflows, and AI opportunities while coordinating with senior leadership to align strategy with the organization's mission.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of product management experience, preferably at a medical society and/or in professional education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Extensive complex budget management experience.
  • Strong business acumen to convey recommendations and influence leadership.
  • Excellent data synthesis skills to analyze and interpret market research for business cases.
  • Able to work with senior management across functions on complex projects.
  • Experience in publishing and content business models, sales strategies, and workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead growth strategies for clinical, educational, and consumer products.
  • Advise leadership, develop business models, and set launch plans.
  • Implement and manage product roadmaps with stakeholder alignment.
  • Oversee rights, licensing, and permissions workflows.
  • Identify AI-related licensing and partnerships and assess fit with the mission.
  • Manage fulfillment and distribution relationships and improve processes.
  • Oversee content strategy and revenue growth for consumer book portfolio and web site.
  • Manage committees in support of product development.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to staff.
  • Contribute to leadership initiatives and organizational improvements.
