Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Director of Process Engineering to lead a diverse team of engineers and scientists responsible for the lifecycle of pharmaceutical manufacturing. You will bridge development and operations, align projects with quality and regulatory requirements, and drive technical leadership across pilot scale to full-scale production.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 10+ years in pharma, and at least 4 years in management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) required.
• 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with formulation experience.
• 4+ years of managerial experience.
• Knowledge of AbbVie Engineering standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and proven project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with internal and external partners to provide technical and business leadership.
• Directs a cross-functional staff to complete CMC lifecycle activities on time and within budget.
• Develops engineering objectives and strategies for site advancement and cost optimization.
• Prepares cost estimates, business plans, and timelines for projects and contingencies.
• Participates in capital planning and project execution to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
• Makes final decisions related to project responsibilities and outcomes.
• Represents AbbVie during regulatory audits with thorough documentation and clear communication.
• Ensures Health, Safety, and Environmental practices are followed by the engineering team.
