Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking a Director of Portfolio/Program Management to lead IT project programs from strategy through delivery. The role focuses on aligning the portfolio with organizational goals and optimizing resources and budgets across programs.

The position reports to the Deputy Chief, Technology Officer and requires strong leadership, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver value for the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with a minimum of four years supervisory/ management experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs a portfolio of programs and projects by aligning projects with programs to support the direction of the organization.
• Oversees the maintenance of the IT Business Plan, supported by Operating and Capital budgets in line with the Financial Plan.
• Oversees a portfolio of projects/programs including timeline, budget, scope, and resourcing; manages risks or changes to the plan.
• Oversees allocation and utilization of resources across projects and programs.
• Translates IT-wide strategies into action plans for the Portfolio/Program Management Function.
