Job summary

ContourGlobal is seeking a Director of Business Development in Houston to lead a portfolio of power development projects. You will report to the VP of Business Development and guide the project development team, shaping growth opportunities in renewables, storage, and traditional assets.

You will oversee strategies, manage risk, and coordinate across functions including engineering, legal, and finance to drive value creation. The role requires US market experience and travel readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a portfolio of utility-scale power/energy infrastructure projects.
• Ability to coach and develop project developers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, budgeting, and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide portfolio-level leadership across multiple power development projects and maintain clear understanding of strategies, risks, priorities, and resources.
• Support Development Managers in advancing projects, provide senior judgment, coaching, and escalation as needed.
• Drive portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and ensure spending aligns with milestones and value creation.
• Oversee development portfolio budgets and forecasted spend; prioritize and align with project milestones and risks.
• Develop and mentor Development Managers and Associates, expanding ownership and external relationship management.
• Provide senior-level support on complex development matters including real estate, permitting, interconnection, stakeholder engagement, and project economics.
• Support cross-functional execution to resolve competing priorities and escalated issues across Development Services, Engineering, Interconnection, Finance, Legal, Construction, and other functions.
• Synthesize portfolio status for senior leadership, communicating risks, opportunities, and decisions requiring attention.
