Job summary

Valley Presbyterian Hospital in California seeks a Director of Perioperative Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for perioperative and surgical services, including OR, Pre-Op, PACU, GI/Endoscopy, and Central Sterile Processing.

You will oversee ~150 FTEs and 3 managers, partnering with CNO, surgeons, anesthesia, and hospital leaders to improve efficiency, quality, safety and staff engagement while guiding meaningful cultural change.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of clinical nursing experience in an acute‑care hospital, including meaningful perioperative/OR experience.
• At least three to five years of progressive leadership experience in perioperative services.
• Prior OR nursing experience required; circulating experience or similar hands‑on perioperative background strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required; BSN preferred. Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Valley Presbyterian Hospital's perioperative and surgical services.
• Oversee the Operating Room, Pre-Op/Same Day Surgery, PACU, GI/Endoscopy, Central Sterile Processing.
• Manage approximately 150 FTEs and three managers, driving quality, safety, and engagement outcomes.
• Partner with CNO, surgeons, anesthesia, medical staff, and leadership to improve OR efficiency and create a culture of accountability.
