Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Director of Perioperative Services to oversee day-to-day operations across multiple perioperative areas, including OR, Recovery, Endoscopy, and related services. You will manage staffing, budgets, and safety initiatives while reporting to hospital leadership.

You will lead staff development, collaborate with surgical and anesthesia leaders, and drive operational excellence with a focus on patient outcomes and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent, or in Master's degree program with completion plan.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.

Responsibilities

• Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing team of perioperative nurses and support staff, providing regular feedback, coaching, and training opportunities.
• Directs all clinical services and program development for OR, Recovery, Endoscopy, Central Sterile Processing, Ambulatory Surgery, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiology, and Preadmission Testing, including staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Builds and maintains strong working relationships with physicians, department directors, and hospital leadership; communicates performance data and strategic plans.
• Establishes high standards of quality and patient safety; participates in quality improvement initiatives; ensures compliance with regulatory standards and accrediting bodies.
• Champions the mission, vision, and values of Allegheny Health Network across the organization.
• Develops and manages the departmental budget, monitors KPIs, and identifies opportunities for cost optimization.
• Evaluates and implements new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and patient care while reducing costs.
• Independently plans, organizes, and executes large-scale projects with effective resource management and deadlines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
