The Role
The People Experience Director plays a strategic and operational leadership role in managing the HR function across the U.S., Philippines, and Mexico. The position ensures the effective implementation of HR policies, processes, and initiatives that align with business goals while complying with labor laws and cultural nuances in each region. This is a full-time, salary-exempt, remote role that requires flexibility to collaborate with teams across different time zones. The compensation range for this role is $135,000 - $165,000 USD/year.
Responsibilities
● Develop and oversee strategic HR initiatives aligned with organizational objectives, addressing the needs of a diverse, distributed workforce.
● Ensure the organization is fully compliant with employment laws and regulations in the U.S., Philippines, and Mexico.
● Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and talent acquisition strategies to support business growth and sustainability.
● Oversee the daily operations of the HR department and manage HR staff across regions to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
● Deliver constructive and timely feedback through performance evaluations, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and development.
● Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive performance management framework to align employee objectives with organizational goals, ensuring consistent evaluation and feedback processes across all levels of the company.
● Effectively address employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions and terminations, in alignment with company policy and local labor laws.
● Drive the implementation of scalable HRIS solutions to enhance operational efficiency and provide actionable workforce analytics and create a cycle of continuous improvement.
● Promote cross-border collaboration while fostering a unified corporate culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
● Ensure effective onboarding and employee training programs to enhance engagement and productivity.
● Monitor and assess compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance across regions.
● Partner with regional leadership to implement virtual and in-person employee engagement initiatives that foster retention and job satisfaction.
● Travel on an as-needed basis (up to 10%) including international travel, with advance notice.
● Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
● A minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, including managing teams across multiple countries.
● 5+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity, with demonstrated success managing diverse, distributed teams.
● SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar certification strongly preferred.
● In-depth knowledge of U.S., Philippines, and Mexico labor laws and employment practices.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across cultures.
● Proven experience implementing and optimizing HRIS and other systems and utilizing data to inform decision-making.
● Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Slack, HRIS platforms, and project management tools such as Asana or Trello.
Physical Requirements
● Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
● This role involves sitting most of the time, but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
