JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Director of Human Resources (HR Operations) is a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing all HR operational functions. This role ensures efficiency, compliance, and alignment of HR processes with business objectives across multiple locations. The Senior Director will drive continuous improvement in HR service delivery, enhance workforce planning, and implement best practices to support a high-performing organization. This individual will lead HR technology systems, total rewards, compliance, ensuring consistency and excellence in HR operations. Experience managing large-scale HR functions across multiple jurisdictions and Canada and working with diverse employee populations, including minors, is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with an advanced degree preferred. Equivalent professional experience may take place of formal education.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing HR Operations at a more strategic level.
  • Proven track record in leading HR operations across multi-unit or large-scale environments. Experience in industries such as entertainment, retail, restaurants, or hospitality highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in HR operations, compliance, talent management, compensation, payroll, and organizational development.
  • Deep knowledge of federal and state labor laws, HR best practices, and HR technology systems (Workday highly preferred) and the ability to leverage these systems to improve operational efficiency and the employee experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies that enhance employee engagement and drive business success.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential matters.
  • Experience with IPOs considered a strong bonus.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to guide teams, build trust, and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to clearly articulate ideas and tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in using data and metrics to help optimize HR processes and ensure department meets key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to resolve complex issues related to operations and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing and fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with both company policies and legal regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute HR operational strategies that align with business objectives and enhance overall HR service delivery.
  • Oversee and optimize HR policies, procedures, and compliance to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws, including those governing minors.
  • Oversee HR process improvements, ensuring seamless payroll administration, benefits management, and HRIS optimization.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making by establishing and maintaining HR metrics and analytics to improve workforce planning and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure smooth execution of onboarding, training, and employee experience programs to enhance retention and workforce satisfaction.
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive strategic workforce planning, change management, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop an HR team, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
  • Stay ahead of HR technology trends, recommending and implementing solutions that improve HR operations and employee experience.
  • Develop and execute a total rewards strategy that supports business goals and enhances employee satisfaction.
  • Design, implement, and oversee compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, equity programs, and incentive structures.
  • Lead benefits strategy, ensuring competitive offerings in health, wellness, retirement, and leave programs.
  • Analyze and benchmark total rewards programs against industry trends to maintain competitiveness and compliance.
  • Serve as SME for LOA, Workers Comp, ADA, 401K and Unemployment.
  • Occasional involvement in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management processes to foster a high-performing culture.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires the ability to remain stationary at a computer desk for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • This position requires the ability to move around and position self appropriately during park visits, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation range is $150,000-170,000 annually + bonus opportunity, based on qualifications, experience, and performance. Full-time employees at CircusTrix enjoy a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage along with a 401k plan with company matching. Eligibility for 401k is based on age and tenure requirements.
