Job summary

Pacific Life seeks a Director – PRT Pricing to lead pricing across the Pension Risk Transfer lifecycle. This on-site role supports the Institutional Division, collaborating with Sales, Risk, and Investments across Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC.

You will drive pricing strategy for retiree, deferred and buy-in structures, own end-to-end pricing, manage stakeholders, and develop a high-performing team with strong governance and documentation.

Qualifications

• FSA or EA with 6+ years of related pricing experience.
• Direct experience with Pension Risk Transfer or annuity products.
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong management, team-building, and communication skills.
• Excellent project management and business partnering abilities.
• Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end initiatives including resourcing decisions and accountability for delivery risk.
• Ability to understand the big picture and mobilize initiatives in ambiguous situations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Prophet.

Responsibilities

• Lead PRT Pricing Deal Strategy: Oversee transaction pricing, assumption setting, and bid execution for PRT deals across retiree, deferred, and buy-in structures.
• Own Cases End to End: Lead and own the full pricing process within the matrix model, operating in both execution and senior reviewer capacities.
• Breadth Across Pricing Disciplines: Build and apply working depth across pricing frameworks and assumptions, mortality and experience analysis, ALM and reinvestment strategy, and pricing operations.
• Assumptions & Methodology: Develop and apply methodology for complex pricing problems, including new structures or provisions.
• Stakeholder Management: Secure buy-in across Sales, Capital, Reinsurance, Investments, Valuation and Risk.
• Team Development: Hire, assess, and develop actuaries and pricing analysts; define roles and responsibilities.
• Governance & Documentation: Own pricing control environment; ensure compliance in standards and regulatory support.
• Innovation & Thought Leadership: Champion new ideas, automation and AI-enabled improvements.
