Job summary

University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Health System Director to lead the Golisano Children's Hospital at UVM Health Medical Group and ambulatory clinics. The role focuses on translating strategy into day-to-day operational execution, ensuring patient access, workforce effectiveness, and high-quality outcomes across multiple locations in Vermont and northern New York.

The Director will partner with division chiefs and site leaders to drive reliable operations in a family-centered care

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in management, preferably in an academic setting.
• At least 3 years of experience in health care operational management; experience leading across sites or service lines.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring consistent execution of workflows, operational standards and patient quality outcomes.
• Coaching supervisors and managers and maintaining daily management discipline.
• Achieving budget, staffing, and productivity targets through active oversight.
• Executing patient access initiatives and operational improvements.
• Using data, rounding, and direct engagement to monitor performance and drive action.
• Medical group practice subject matter expertise.
