Job summary

City Teaching Alliance in the DC region seeks a Director of Partnerships to lead development and management of school, district, CMO, community, and strategic partnerships across Washington, DC. This externally facing role requires a consistent presence in schools and in the community.

The Director will craft a comprehensive regional partnership strategy, set annual goals, lead placement capacity and partner recruitment, and build a proactive pipeline of collaborators aligned with workforce

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of professional experience in partnerships, external relations, education, or program leadership.
• Demonstrated success developing and growing external partnerships through proactive relationship building.
• Strong knowledge of K-12 urban school systems, particularly in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional partnership strategy aligned with City Teaching Alliance's mission and growth priorities.
• Establish annual partnership goals aligned with Fellow placement targets, partner retention, and revenue opportunities.
• Oversee slot-selling and placement confirmations with school partners to ensure high-quality placement capacity.
• Develop a proactive pipeline of prospective school, district, CMO, community, university, and other strategic partners.
• Deepen existing partnerships based on workforce needs, talent priorities, Fellow experience, and strategic alignment.
• Create multi-year partnership and talent pipeline strategies with priority partners to extend relationships beyond annual placements.

Job description

The Director of Partnerships will serve as a key member of the regional leadership team, responsible for developing, cultivating, and sustaining strong school, district, CMO, community, and strategic partnerships across the DC region.

This is a relationship-driven, externally facing role that requires a consistent presence in schools and throughout the community

Key Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Strategy, Vision & Regional Growth
• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive regional partnership strategy aligned with City Teaching Alliance's mission, program goals, and growth priorities.
• Establish annual partnership goals aligned with Fellow placement targets, partner retention,
• partnership quality, revenue opportunities, and regional growth.
• Lead slot-selling and placement confirmations with school partners to ensure sufficient high-
• quality placement capacity aligned with projected Fellow cohort needs.
• Develop a proactive pipeline of prospective school, district, CMO, community, university, and other strategic partners.
• Identify opportunities to deepen existing partnerships based on workforce needs, talent
• priorities, Fellow experience, and strategic alignment.
• Develop multi-year partnership and talent pipeline strategies with priority partners to move
• relationships beyond annual placement transactions

Qualifications:

• 7-10 years of professional experience, including significant experience in partnerships, business development, external relations, education, workforce development, or program leadership.
• Demonstrated success developing and growing external partnerships through proactive, in- person relationship building and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong knowledge of K-12 urban school systems, particularly within Washington, DC, strongly preferred.
