Job summary

Verdence Capital Advisors is seeking an experienced Director of Business Operations to join its leadership team. Reporting to the COO, you will manage a 10+ person operations group across custodial and platform operations, driving scalable processes and technology adoption in a growing RIA.

You will supervise day-to-day operations, ensure client experience and service quality, and lead onboarding for acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field.
• MBA or master's degree strongly preferred.
• Series 65 or equivalent.
• 10+ years in financial services operations.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record scaling operations in high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 10+ professionals across the firm with leadership and feedback.
• Set expectations for service quality and client experience.
• Oversee onboarding/training for new hires joining through acquisitions.
• Manage custodial relationships with Schwab and Fidelity.
• Oversee custodial platform access, permissions and security.
• Act as senior escalation point for custodial issues.
• Improve custodial processes and service delivery.
• Coordinate with Chief Compliance Officer to align with regulations.
• Oversee relationships with service providers (document management, e-signature, reporting, mail/courier).
• Ensure data quality and formulate reporting improvements using Verdence systems.
• Champion data discipline and tech tool effectiveness (e.g., AI).
