Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own the investment operations platform across equities, fixed income, and alternative investments; establish operating readiness standards.
• Lead, develop, and retain a team of investment operations professionals; define roles and succession planning.
• Document and standardize operating procedures, product launch processes, and controls to support growth and reduce risk.
• Partner with Investment, Advisory, Compliance, Finance, and Technology teams to execute strategies and build platform/data infrastructure.
• Oversee investment billing, including fee configurations, exception monitoring, and reconciliations.
• Lead onboarding and implementation of new investment products and managers; drive end-to-end launch processes.
• Own trade execution, rebalancing, and order management; ensure model allocations are accurate.
• Evaluate and implement trading, rebalancing, and ops technologies to improve efficiency and advisor experience.
• Oversee investment data quality across custodial feeds and internal records; ensure reporting accuracy.

A growing, independent registered investment advisor (RIA) is seeking a Director of Platform Operations to lead its middle-office and investment operations platform. The firm serves ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, foundations, and institutions, providing investment management, financial planning, and family office services.

The Director will oversee investment operations across public and private investments, trading, rebalancing, billing, client reporting, platform administration, and investment data quality. This role will focus on building scalable processes, strengthening operational controls, developing the operations team, and implementing technology to support the firm's growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the investment operations platform across equities, fixed income, and alternative investments, establishing operational readiness standards for new investment strategies and products.
• Lead, develop, and retain a team of investment operations professionals, establishing clear responsibilities, cross-training, and succession planning.
• Document and standardize operating procedures, product launch processes, and controls to support growth and reduce operational risk.
• Partner with Investment, Advisory, Compliance, Finance, and Technology teams to execute investment strategies and develop platform and data infrastructure requirements.
• Oversee investment billing, including account- and household-level fee configurations, exception monitoring, and fee reconciliations.
• Lead the onboarding and implementation of new investment products and approved managers, coordinating implementation from initial development through launch.
• Own trade execution, rebalancing operations, and order management, ensuring investment models and allocations are implemented accurately.
• Evaluate and implement trading, rebalancing, and investment operations technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and advisor experience.
• Oversee investment data quality across custodial feeds and internal investment records, including billing data, reconciliations, exception management, and reporting accuracy.
• Continuously improve the operating model, systems, and controls to support increasing assets, client needs, and portfolio complexity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of experience in investment or platform operations at an RIA, wealth management firm, or asset manager.
• Direct experience supporting investment model delivery and operations across public and private investment solutions.
• Experience managing and developing teams across multiple operational functions.
• Strong understanding of middle-office operations, including trading, rebalancing, portfolio administration, billing, reporting, and investment data management.
• Hands-on experience with portfolio accounting and reporting systems and major custodial platforms.
• Experience implementing new investment products and strategies; prior experience launching ETFs or other pooled investment vehicles is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes, strengthen operational controls, and lead technology and process improvement initiatives.
• Strong cross-functional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
