Job summary

Berkshire Health Systems is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the medical group’s practice and clinical operations across multiple sites. You will coordinate Front Desk and Business Operations, mentor practice leaders, and translate organizational priorities into actionable plans.

The role requires a track record of overseeing large, multi-location operations, data-driven decision making, and strong coaching abilities. Travel to various work locations is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressive medical group leadership experience, including at least five years overseeing multiple locations, practices and managers.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Licensure & certifications: None or not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee medical group or ambulatory practice operations and support practice leaders in achieving organizational goals, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Develop and operationalize action plans with medical directors, practice managers, clinical leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Coach, mentor, develop, and upskill managers and staff to improve performance.
• Use KPIs and data to monitor progress, identify barriers, and drive improvement across sites.
• Assist in developing operating and capital budgets with staffing and infrastructure considerations.
• Improve administrative policies, workflows, and processes across multiple practices.
• Build consensus, communicate expectations, and lead through collaboration and influence.
• Engage in change-management and continuous learning initiatives; explore informatics, data analytics, or project management.

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Operations is a key member of the Medical Group leadership team responsible for practice and clinical operations oversight of assigned services. In addition, this role organizes support and improvement work across Front Desk and Business Operations throughout the Medical Group. The Director is also responsible for leading management team development initiatives, including coaching and mentoring to practice leaders. The Director partners with medical directors and practice leadership to translate organizational priorities into action plans, monitor performance, strengthen accountability, and support consistent, high-quality practice operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience: Ten years of progressive medical group leadership experience, including at five years of oversight over multiple locations, practices, and managers.

Education: Master's preferred.

Licensure & Certifications: None.

The minimum and maximum of the hourly pay range for this position is shown above. Actual rates of pay may vary based on a range of factors including but not limited to experience and qualifications.
