Director of Clinical Operations – Multi-Specialty Group

Position Type: Hybrid Position (preferred from Los Angeles/High Desert valley Area), working from various Hospital Locations and remotely. Travel in LA area required.

Job Summary

The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of clinical services to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care. This role provides strategic leadership, operational management, and oversight of clinical teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizing workflow efficiency, and driving quality improvement initiatives. The Director works closely with executive leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals and enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to achieve clinical, financial, and patient care objectives.
  • Serve as a senior leader, collaborating with executives and department heads on organizational initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff, executive management, and external partners.
  • Clinical Operations Oversight
    • Direct day-to-day management of clinical programs, departments, and service lines.
    • Ensure timely implementation and adherence to clinical protocols, workflows, and SOPs.
    • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and capacity management to meet patient volume demands.
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with CMS, HIPAA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards.
    • Lead quality improvement programs and implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
    • Maintain accurate and complete documentation and reporting for all clinical activities.
  • Team Management & Development
    • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor clinical managers and staff.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and develop staff improvement plans.
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment.
    • Develop, monitor, and manage departmental budgets.
    • Optimize resource utilization while maintaining high-quality care delivery.
    • Negotiate vendor contracts and oversee supply chain for clinical equipment and materials.
  • Patient Care & Experience
    • Champion initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, safety, and care coordination.
    • Monitor patient feedback and implement service improvements.
    • Support culturally competent care and patient education efforts.
  • Data, Analytics & Reporting
    • Track and analyze KPIs, operational metrics, and patient outcomes.
    • Prepare regular reports for executive leadership and regulatory agencies.
    • Implement technology solutions to streamline clinical operations and reporting.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in clinical operations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex operations.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.
  • Experience with EHR systems, telehealth platforms, and healthcare analytics tools.
  • Background in hospital, outpatient, or integrated health system operations.
  • Strategic planning and organizational leadership.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial management and budget oversight.
  • Change management and process improvement expertise.
  • Ability to analyze and use data for decision-making.
Compensation

Annual salary of $120,000-140,000 per annum with benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, AD&D, 401k match.
