Job summary

Active Security Consulting is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the company’s operations organization and ensure the successful delivery of security integration projects and service programs.

In this hybrid role based in Sterling, VA, you will set operational strategy, build a high-performing team, manage budgets and project margins, and collaborate with executive leadership to translate goals into actionable plans and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Executive-level communication to influence leadership, customers, and partners.
• Ability to build, lead, and retain high-performing teams and develop managers.
• Financial management including budgeting, forecasting, P&L controls.
• Ability to develop and execute operational strategy, policies, and process improvements.
• Experience with ConnectWise Manage and professional service management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Set operational strategy, goals, and annual plans aligned with growth and lead execution across delivery, service, and field operations.
• Lead and develop operations managers, project/program managers, and coordinators; design organizational structure and bench.
• Own operational financial performance including budgets, forecasting, margins, labor utilization, and cash flow.
• Establish and report KPIs and dashboards to executive leadership, driving accountability across the portfolio.
• Plan workforce capacity and hiring to match backlog and pipeline, balancing in-house and subcontracted labor.
• Collaborate with Business Development on capture strategy, bid/no-bid decisions, pricing, and proposals.
• Develop strategic relationships with customers, OEMs, distributors, and subcontractors; negotiate agreements and resolve escalations.
• Define and enforce operational policies, standards, and quality programs with safety, security, and compliance.
• Lead selection, implementation, and optimization of systems and tools to support scalability.
• Oversee facilities, inventory, and logistics for field execution.
• Foster a collaborative team environment aligned with mission and principles.
