Job description

Cordia Resources has partnered with a client in food and beverage services in their search to hire two (2) Director of Operations positions in the Washington, DC metro area. One role is in Washington, DC, and the other is in Northern Virginia.

Must have food and beverage experience, multi-unit management experience, and the ability to lead a team. Union experience is highly preferred.

Both roles offer a salary range of $110,000 to $130,000 (+ bonus) and require full-time on-site presence.

Director of Operations
Job Summary

The Director of Operations will have the opportunity to work with motivated professionals in a dynamic environment. The primary responsibility is to manage food service operations, maintaining cost and quality standards to ensure superior service and maximize profits. This role involves leading 13 retail locations across 5 campus buildings. We seek passionate leaders committed to food service excellence and fostering a strong team culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead multiple campus dining operations with a total managed volume exceeding $15 million.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement regional policies and procedures.
  • Support the development and execution of clinical and resident service programs aligned with client and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in sales efforts for new business acquisition.
  • Monitor financial reports to ensure budget adherence.
  • Develop and motivate an effective management team.
  • Regularly visit units to inspect operations and ensure contract compliance.
  • Maintain client satisfaction and account retention through regular interface with clients.
  • Address and resolve client, resident, and staff complaints.
  • Conduct annual and semi-annual performance evaluations.
  • Complete all required reports as per corporate policy.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Train, motivate, and develop management personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven team management skills.
  • At least 5 years of multi-unit foodservice management experience.
  • Strong record of driving customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, P&L-driven environment.
  • Experience mentoring and developing team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
