Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Director of Operations – Benefits and Compensation to lead franchise operations excellence across new openings and existing sites.

You will design SOPs, training materials, and playbooks; optimize COGS, labor, and profitability; and travel extensively during franchise launches to ensure scalable replication.

This role requires 7+ years in multi-unit restaurant ops (fast-casual or QSR preferred) and a proven track record with franchise support and menu execution.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of multi-unit restaurant operations experience (Fast-casual or QSR preferred)
• Proven track record of new restaurant openings and franchise support
• Experience building or refining SOPs, training programs, and operational playbooks
• Strong understanding of food cost management, labor optimization, and unit-level profitability
• Ability to travel extensively during franchise launch phase
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive review of FOH and BOH operations to identify gaps for scalable replication
• Develop and finalize the operations manual, training materials, SOPs, and systems to serve as the franchise blueprint
• Dial in portioning, cooking methods, COGS controls, and operational details for a plug-and-play model
• Oversee launch of new franchise and corporate locations, ensuring operational excellence from day one
• Recruit, develop, and deploy traveling trainers to support franchisee locations
• Collaborate with culinary director on menu execution and procurement partners to maintain cost discipline
