Job summary

HMR Veterans Services is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and coordinate the Nursing Department in our Amarillo, TX facility. You will oversee clinical operations, policies, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance to ensure the highest standard of care for our nation’s heroes.

The DON will manage staffing, budgets, and care plans, while participating in committees and inspections. RN licensure and an accredited nursing degree are required, with supervisory experience and a

Qualifications

• RN license active and in good standing in the state of practice.
• Minimum three years of nursing experience with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations applicable to skilled nursing facilities.
• Experience supporting veteran populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the Nursing Department's operations.
• Develop and update policies governing daily nursing activities.
• Maintain an ongoing quality assurance program and address deficiencies.
• Determine staffing needs and supervise CNA trainees.
• Monitor medication administration and patient care plans.
• Prepare and manage the Nursing Department budget.
• Participate in surveys, committees, and continuing education.
