Qualifications

• Active RN license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum one year nursing leadership experience in long‑term care.
• Strong knowledge of long‑term care regulations, MDS processes, and clinical compliance.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and build a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Services Department.
• Ensure high‑quality resident care while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Oversee nursing staff performance, training, and professional development.
• Monitor and ensure accurate and thorough clinical documentation, including nurses' notes reflecting resident treatments, medications, and conditions.
• Conduct daily rounds to observe resident care, communicate with physicians, and interact with residents and families.
• Collaborate with the MDS/Resident Assessment Coordinator to schedule, plan, and revise MDS assessments and care plans, including RAPs and triggers.
• Support quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement in clinical outcomes.
• Work closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team to ensure efficient facility operations.
• Manage staffing levels, scheduling oversight, and departmental budgeting.
• Address resident, family, and staff concerns with professionalism and compassion.

Position Type: Full-Time

The current DON is retiring, this position will be open the end of September/beginning of October.

The Gardens at West Shore is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department at our skilled nursing facility in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of resident care.

Schedule

• Day Shift


• Includes weekend and on-call responsibilities as needed

Key Responsibilities
